Kindness - Scripture Situations

Sharing Time for Senior Primary

Looking up scriptures to fit situations can be fun and give experience in using the scriptures. Here are some situations. Each has two scriptures to look up. Decide as a class which scriptures would work best.

1. You and your brother walk to school together. He walks really slowly and it makes you really mad. You want to get to school so you can play with your friends. What scripture would fit? 2 Nephi 15:19 or 2 Nephi 15:27

2. You and your sister argue all the time. What scripture could remind you to do better? 3 Nephi 12:9 or 3 Nephi 12:15

3. Your friends are saying mean things about someone. You remember a Family Home Evening lesson your mom gave on being nice. Alma 57:27 or Alma 39:7

4. How would the earth be if everyone was kind to each other? 4 Nephi 1:15 or 4 Nephi 1:26

5. What should parents teach their children? Alma 39:12 or Alma 39:7

6. How should we act towards others? 3 Nephi 1:13 or 3 Nephi 1:10

7. How can families work together to be kind to others? 3 Nephi 18:21 or 3 Nephi 18:24

Give each class some kindness situations that really hit home. In reality, what would they do? Some children could tell what they think someone might really do. Then, ask how this person could change or how the fmaily could change to help them.

For Junior Primary

Give each child a "smiley" and pin it upside down. When they have done a kind deed (or said a kind word) they can turn it into a smile.
